What are the Attributes?

 

"Attributes", in the context of Scan2Order, refers to all those features and traits that can be attributed to a product for the purpose of its description. The use of attributes is not mandatory, but if you choose to use them you must know that a) each product can have more than one Attributes, b) each Attribute must necessarily be accompanied by corresponding Terms in order to work.

 

So what are Attributes in practice? Let's look at some examples:

 

·         Let's say that your product is a pizza. The most important Attribute a customer would want to know in this case is the Size (e.g. "6 slices", "8 slices", etc.).

·         If on the other hand your product is a beer then an important Attribute we would like to communicate to our customers would be the Alcohol Content (e.g. "8% vol", "12.5% vol", etc.).

·         Accordingly, if we are talking about a soft drink then perhaps the most important attribute we could include is the Size in ml (e.g. "250ml", "500ml", "1L", etc.)

 

To summarize, two important things must be kept in mind when talking about Attributes:

 

·         "Attributes" are important features/traits of products that we include in their descriptions to inform our customers.

·         Each Attribute necessarily requires at least one Term to work.

 

How do I create a new Attribute?

 

1) Click the "Attributes" button on your toolbox.

 

2) Click on the “CREATE ATTRIBUTE” button located on the top side of your screen.

 

3) In the new attribute creation page you will be asked to:

 

·         In the "Attribute" field, fill in the name of the attribute you want to create (e.g. "Size", "Alcohol Content", etc.).

 

·         In the "Translations" field, fill in the translation in the language(s) you have selected.

 

4) Click the “Save” button at the bottom right of your screen.

 

Your new attribute is ready! You can view it in the list of all your attributes by clicking "Attributes" on your toolbox.

 

 

How do I make changes or corrections to an already created Attribute?

 

1) Click the "Attributes" button on your toolbox.

 

2) In your list of existing attributes you will see that each attribute has an edit icon in the "Functions" column on the right.

 

3) Click the edit icon of the attribute you want to edit.

 

4) Complete the changes you want to make and click the “Save” button at the bottom right of your screen.

 

That's it! Your changes have been saved and your attribute is ready.

 

How do I delete an Attribute?

 

1) Click the "Attributes" button on your toolbox.

 

2) In your list of existing attributes you will see that each attribute has a delete icon in the "Functions" column on the right.

 

3) Click the delete icon of the attribute you want to delete.

 

That's it! The attribute you wanted to delete no longer exists.
